*Scholarship Guidelines
Priority of Awards: The Daymar Foundation academic tuition awards are reserved for graduating high school seniors or GED recipients.
Availability: Scholarships are normally awarded for each quarter and/or each semester, or as funds are available. Continuing the academic tuition awards will depend on all the criteria being met. Failure to register for any quarter or semester will automatically cancel the award for future quarters or semesters, except in the case of an approved deferment.
Deferment Policy: Awards may be deferred by the Board of Directors for students who interrupt their education for military service or medical reasons. A written request must be submitted to the Committee explaining the reason for deferment, when the student is leaving and when they expect to return. To reinstate the award, the student must notify the Committee or the Foundation Executive Director one month prior to their return. Deferment is limited to 22 months.
Deadlines: All tuition scholarships must be submitted quarterly, on or before December 15th, March 15th, June 15th, and August 15th in order to be considered. The prior sentence notwithstanding, The Paddy Miller GED Award and The Don Taylor Stepping Stone Award applications may be submitted as needed throughout the program year. The awards may be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Each application is evaluated and scored by a body of independent reviewers. The amount of assistance will be based on available funds and the student’s level of need as determined by application forms.
Credit Load Requirements: Students must enroll and complete the credit load for a full time student required by Title IV funding.
Probation: Students falling under the required level for cumulative GPA or credit hours will be given one quarter or semester of probation unless specified otherwise. A notification will be sent informing the student that the award will be canceled unless they raise their cumulative GPA above the required level. The students must provide grades (transcript) at the end of each and every term to be considered for further funding.
Funds are Specific: All awards are specific for the purpose they are awarded. The award will be paid directly to the provider for the purpose of the award when possible.
Other Conditions: Other situations not covered in these policies will be considered on an individual basis by the Committee.
